Hot Sunset

Hot Sunset, a photograph by Ivanneth

Hot Sunset“, a photo by ivanneth.

Another favourite photo of mine, shot last year.
These days just passed were very hot, but now, alas, it seems that the summer is over…

Frostiness

Frostiness, a photograph by Ivanneth

Frostiness“, a snapshot taken by ivanneth.

I took this photo during the past winter, on 2nd January 2009. That day there was an exceptional mix of atmospheric conditions (besides an intense cold): there was both snow and a ground mist at sunset. And I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to immortalize this wonderful wintry landscape.

Snowy Gate

A photograph by L0renz

The snow has fallen also this winter, here in Veneto, and brrr… it was bitterly cold!
Here above is a wonderful shot taken after the snowfall by L0renz, a friend of mine.
I like very much the chosen subject, a gate with an arc stepping over it, those little branches, thin and twined, raising to the sky, the light suffused by the snow and its whiteness behind the gate, emphasized by the ‘black&white’ filter, and the soft grey around.

The three peaks in this image represent a good example for the three obelisks I have mentioned in the previous post.
By the way, this image, with the Tre Cime di Lavaredo in black and white, is sensational!

Heavenly City, by Yang Yongliang

Recently, while I was glancing through a photography magazine in a bookstore in Padua, I have noticed these digital collages by Yang Yongliang, a Chinese artist.
What has struck me quite a lot is the visionariety of these works: with images of explosions, road traffic, reinforced concrete buildings and other things, he has conceived hypothetical cities floating in the sky, or raising towards it like a huge tower.
All of these works have been exhibited at the Limn Art Gallery, San Francisco.

White Fantasy Horse

White Fantasy Horse, a photograph by ivanneth

White Fantasy Horse“, a snapshot taken by ivanneth.

I wish to open my new blog with one of my favourite shots taken by me.
It was a beautiful day at the beginning of August, and I met with this graceful white horse on the top of the massif called Plose (near Brixen, in the north of Italy), with the peaks of the Odle/Geisler mountain group and several white-ashy clouds on the background. What a piece of luck!
The title I have given to the photo has struck me easily: it seems a fantasy movie scene, isn’t it?
