Odles, mon amour!

The fabulous Odles group (Geislergruppe, or Geislerspitzen in German language, Odle in Italian and Odles in Ladin), as seen from the top of the mount Seceda, near St. Ulrich in Gröden (Urtijëi in Ladin).

The celestial lake of Sorapiss

The fabulous lake Sorapiss, photographed by Marco Dian

Lake Sorapiss, photographed by Marco Dian

This is the fabulous “lago del Sorapiss” (lake of Sorapiss), with pale turquoise waters. The peak overhanging the lake is called “Dito di Dio” (Finger of God), and is located in the center of the Sorapiss group, near Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Hot Sunset

Hot Sunset, a photograph by Ivanneth

Hot Sunset“, a photo by ivanneth.

Another favourite photo of mine, shot last year.
These days just passed were very hot, but now, alas, it seems that the summer is over…

Heavenly City, by Yang Yongliang

Recently, while I was glancing through a photography magazine in a bookstore in Padua, I have noticed these digital collages by Yang Yongliang, a Chinese artist.
What has struck me quite a lot is the visionariety of these works: with images of explosions, road traffic, reinforced concrete buildings and other things, he has conceived hypothetical cities floating in the sky, or raising towards it like a huge tower.
All of these works have been exhibited at the Limn Art Gallery, San Francisco.
